Atlas Stud is an NFRS registered Stud run by Kyra Murray and Tom Bunce in Leicestershire. In Greek mythology, Atlas was a titan condemned by Zeus to hold the skies upon his shoulders. Instead of the skies, we usually have a rat or two upon our shoulders! Our aims are to breed rats with exceptional temperament, health and show qualities in the russian blue, russian blue essex, russian dove and Russian dove essex varieties. Related varieties will often be available, usually russian based but sometimes self based and we have some agouti based litters planned for 2012, also containing rex. We name the rats we keep here to improve our line after places all around the world to tie in with our prefix. We began our lines using a combination of lines belonging to our close friend Lucy Heath, formerly of Asbru stud. We are members of the Midlands Rat Club (MRC), National Fancy Rat Society (NFRS) & North of England Rat Society (NERS). We obtained our stud name at the very beginning of 2012 with our very special doe, Atlas Madagascar.
